Redwood City, California
Since 1977, Redwood City has had a Housing and Human Concerns Committee that is responsible for ensuring that the quality of life for all residents has been considered in the city’s physical and economic decision-making.
Once only a housing committee, its responsibilities have been extended to include generating community awareness and addressing new and changing social needs and encouraging social responsiveness in city legislation and departments.
