Thousand Oaks, California
The City of Thousand Oaks maintains a Disabled Access Appeals and Advisory Board to represent the needs of physically challenged residents of the community.
It consists of two physically challenged individuals, two people experienced in construction, and one public member who meet monthly and serve two-year staggered terms. The board advises the city how to make Thousand Oaks more accessible for all residents to work, play and participate in community events.
