Air Quality

When voters passed the indoor smoking ban in November 2006, Ohio became the first Midwestern state and the first tobacco-growing state to outlaw smoking in public buildings, including bars, restaurants and workplaces. The Akron Regional Air Quality Management District monitors air pollutants in Akron and a tri-county area, enforcing air pollution regulations and inspecting major industrial contributors to air pollution.
